1. Father of the Bride (1991)

Everyone’s heard of a bridezilla, but how about a dadzilla? George just loves his daughter, to the point of almost losing her. You can’t really blame him though — it’s hard watching your children grow up and move out. You may even be able to diagnose your own parents with this issue. Even though parents can act crazy sometimes — like falling into your fiancé’s pool — you know that at the end of the day they do it out of love.

2. 27 Dresses (2008)

Don’t you just hate it when your sister steals the man you’ve been crushing on forever? Well, it was all for the best because Jane ended up finding the real man of her dreams, Kevin. This film is always a favorite, mainly due to the Benny and the Jets scene, and the dress montage and the…. well everything really! If you’ve ever been a bridesmaid and never the bride, stress no more. With this movie it’s finally time for your big day.

3. License to Wed (2007)

How adorable was that moment when Ben writes his vows in the sand to win Sadie back? What made that I’m-not-crying-you’re-totally-crying scene even more tissue-worthy was how you knew just how much it took them to get there, including almost having their relationship completely destroyed. Ben and Sadie had to believe that their love could withstand any test. Although it didn’t seem possible at times, their struggle was worth it because they had each other.

4. Sweet Home Alabama (2002)

Who can resist a love that defies decades? As children, Melanie and Jake knew that they were meant to be. Even though time, space and some hot Alabama headiness pulled them apart, they wound up together again. Of course it only took a new fiancé and some unsigned divorce papers, but they were able to rediscover the love that they lost. Sorry Patrick Dempsey, maybe next time.

5. The Wedding Planner (2001)

For Mary and Steve their slow dance, and later first kiss, at the outdoor movies were priceless. Sweet little moments like those are usually the most memorable. And, they can totally give you some major inspiration for your big day! How magical would your first dance be outside with a projected slideshow in the background? The best part – Chubb Hotel’s scenic landscape is the perfect backdrop to make that moment everything you wished for.

6. Runaway Bride (1999)

Maggie shows us that the most important kind of love is the kind for yourself. Sometimes it takes a while to find the right guy, and even then it may not be the right time. No matter how you come to it, love is love. Everyone’s path is unique and that’s what makes your big day so special. It doesn’t matter if it took you three fiancés and some strong sneakers because at the end of the journey you end up where you belong.

7. My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002)

Sometimes love can come from unexpected places. Like a travel agency. It can also come from unexpected people. Loving someone who comes from a different background can be difficult. But it’s the genuine interest and sharing of those experiences that show how much you care about one another. Ian may not have been Greek but he cared enough to get baptized in a kiddie pool for Toula. If that’s not true love, I don’t know what is.
